"Zeus : The Rise of the King of Olympus"
## The Epic Narrative of the Greek Mythology:
About two thousand years ago, ancient Greek people documented collection of stories referred to today as "Greek Mythology" by such writers as Homer, other writers, playwrights and historians of classical antiquity. But who Zeus, that he fought against his own father and released the great flood to destroy people on Earth? Throwing light on the creation of mankind by Prometheus and how the 'Pandora's box' let out all evils of the world. Could the souls that arrived in Hades find themselves there, and how did famous heroes, for example Hercules triumph over such beasts as the Hydra, Cyclops and Medusa? This is an exhaustive account of the whole of Greek mythology, right from Hercules' 12 labors to the Trojan War.
## The Beginning of Creation:
In the beginning, there was only a large and confused zone, a vaster blank area. From that chaos emerged Gaia, representing Earth, and Eros, the Greek deity of love. They were later accompanied by Reds Clan Giants or red-handed giants and Cyclops, which are believed to be excellent craftsmen that made Zeus a storm, Poseidon a trident and Hades a cap of invisibility and thus turned the tables of the battle. When the Titans were defeated, their leader Zeus chains them up and put in a deep place known as Tartarus where they are punished eternally. When Atlas sided with the Titans in the battle against the Olympian gods, a unique punishment awaited him. He was sentenced to bear the weight of the sky on his shoulders for all eternity the rest time of his life.
## The Rise Zeus:
Even in ascending the throne of Olympus, Zeus did not go unchallenged. Though warned by his parents, Gaia and Uranus that his first wife, Metis the goddess of wisdom, would give birth to a usurper who would depose him, To avert this prophecy, Zeus proceeded to swallow Metis even before she could deliver. Nevertheless, the reign of Zeus was infamous for multiple scandals - the god cheated on his spouses and had, in fact, seven wives at least.
## Pandora's Box:
Zeus then created the first woman from the earth and bestowed her with emotions from Aphrodite, curiosity from Zeus himself, speech from Hermes who also bestowed on her the name of Pandora, which means 'all gifts'. Pandora was provided with a box which she was not allowed to open. Out of sheer curiosity, Pandora loosened the door and the evils of the world swarmed out and stuck around while the only thing left in the box was hope.
## Being preoccupied with the story of the creation of people and the Great Flood:
When people are gone, the only two remaining are Deucalion and Pyrrha, and, hearing the story of his ancestors, he wants to know from gods how to create new people. According to the legend, Titan Themis instructed Deucalion and Pyrrha to toss stones over their shoulders while walking. Surprisingly, the stones thrown by Deucalion turned into men, and those thrown by Pyrrha transformed into women, playing a part in repopulating the earth.
## The Underworld and Hades:
The spirits of the deceased would go to the underworld and present themselves to Hades, the Old Man of the Hull, where they would be sorted. The good would live in Elysium, which is a fortunate after world, whereas the evil souls would be punished in Tartarus that is an unfortunate after world. This vile and shadowy domain was governed by Hades in conjunction with his wife, Persephone, and one was subjected to the unshakeable laws of the netherworld.
## The Heroic Age:
The heroic age of the Grecian mythology is a collection of some of the most daring and unputdownable stories of bravery, treachery and great adventures. Legends like Heracles, Perseus, and Jason only for these main reasons set out on the dangerous ventures to combat the monsters or to steal the divine artefacts and even challenge the gods. Hercules who went thorough 12 labors was subjected to incredible ordeal, from killing the Nemean Lion to heaving Cerberus up and out of the underworld. Whereas the story followed Perseus in the defeat of the snake-eyed Gorgon Medusa by showing her image in a mirror, displayed her as a snake-haired monster, and men turned into stone after gazing at her; and the story explained how Jason got the shipment of the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece where the heroes had to overcome dragons, giant hurdles, river currents and rains.
## The Trojan War:
Among all the narratives, the largest is undoubtedly the story of the Trojan War that arose because of the kidnapped Helen, the most beautiful woman on Earth, by Paris of Troy. It was a long war of ten years; it featured great fighters like, Archilles, Hector and Odysseus with gods being involved in the dispensation of human affairs. This war concluded with the concept of the Trojan Horse, which resulted in the downfall of the city of Troy, and the subsequent journey of most these Greek heroes back to their own country not without encountering several challenges along the way.
## The Legacy of Greek Mythology:
Greek mythology has greatly shaped Western culture for centuries. Its impact is evident in literature, art and philosophy.
